Lotsa Launches! Jennifer Nielsen September 8, 2015

Lotsa Launches!

If you’re a Utah type, please watch for all of these launch parties!

Nightdivided_XLG
First, well…mine. On Wednesday, Sept 9, 7 pm at The King’s English in Salt Lake City, we’ll have the launch party for A NIGHT DIVIDED. I’ll talk a little, we can eat a little (a lot), and sign books a little.

If you can’t be there, but you still want a signed book (any of my books), click the link above and scroll down the page for instructions on how to order. Then at the launch party, I’ll sign it to you, and then King’s English will mail it directly to you.

Second is the launch for a friend of mine, Frank Cole, for his new series, THE AFTERLIFE ACADEMY, a really fun middle grade adventure about Walter Prairie, who, upon his untimely death, is assigned to become a Guardian Agent. Frank Cole’s launch party will be on Tuesday, Sept 15, 7 pm, at The King’s English. If possible, you should totally go! Ditto the paragraph above, except Frank will be signing the books, not me. Because that’d be weird if I did.

51mBm3beYAL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_And third is the launch for J. Scott Savage’s new series, MYSTERIES OF COVE with the exciting first book FIRES OF INVENTION. I’ve read this book. I’ve blurbed this book, and I can tell you that you will love it! It’s got a futuristic steampunk feel, a great mystery, and some characters you won’t soon forget.

On October 1st, I will join J Scott Savage, James Dashner, Brandon Mull, and other amazing authors and performers in a FREE launch party for the new Steampunk Dragon books series, Mysteries of Cove. There will be free face painting, Dole Whip, posters, bracelets, and other goodies, a hilarious stage show, a book signing, and a chance to take pictures with the actors from the book trailer.

Sign up here to make sure you have seats.

https://www.facebook.com/events/533215923497765/

GIVEAWAY BONUS: J. Scott Savage is giving away a VIP package containing up to five reserved seat tickets, a goody bag, and a pre-show meet and greet with the authors. If you are a Utah type, there are three ways to win.

1) Come to my launch party on Wednesday! I’ll have a box for entries. (Also food. Really yummy food!)

2) Come to my table at the Barnes and Noble Authorpalooza at South Towne on Sept 19th from 1-4 pm.

3) Leave a comment below about a book you are looking forward to reading. Be sure to tell me that you are entering the contest (i.e. you are a Utah type). Otherwise, I will assume you are merely leaving a comment, but not entering.

I will draw the winner on Sept 19th after the Authorpalooza! Good luck, and many thanks to J Scott Savage for the giveaway!

I love launch parties – and a giveaway? That’s great.
Unfortunately, I am not ‘Utah type’, but it doesn’t bother me.
Have fun at the launch parties!

Id love to come but there’s just the minor issue of it being in the completely wrong country………. Ireland’s so far away 🙁

Well, between a launch here and anything in Ireland, personally, I’d take Ireland! 😉

I looked at your calendar and it looks like you’re coming to Houston in October? Is that event available to everyone? I’d love to come meet you!

Hi Jennifer! Just let me get this out…
I LOVE THE FALSE PRINCE SO MUCH!!!!!!!
Ok, it’s out. I want to thank you for writing it and all the other books you’ve written. The False Prince is my favorite book ever and I fangirl at random times in the day. It’s the book I’ve always wanted to read but never found anything close enough. I write stories too, and let me say this, you’ve inspired me beyond belief!
P.S. Logan Lerman as Jaron! He’s a bit old… but I’m sure it would work out. Hailee Steinfeld as Imogen. Dylan Everett as Tobias. Conner Jessup as Roden. Annasophia Robb as Amarinda.

    Thanks!

It was so awesome meeting you at J Scott Savage’s Book launch. I already read my new copy of Mark of the Thief. My book has a problem though! The book is missing some pages. It couldn’t possibly end with so much still wrong!

Just kidding, but I seriously can’t wait for Rise of the Wolf to come out.

Hmm, so your copy is missing like page 1-300 of Rise of the Wolf? That’s weird! Maybe we can fix that in January!

Thank you very much, Kayla! It was great to meet you too!

I got a copy of A Night Divided a few weeks ago. I haven’t finished it yet, but I’m in the 40s, chapterwise. And oh. My. Gosh. It is soooo tense. I can hardly stand it! I haven’t been able to put it down all day. The suspense is KILLING me! This book is by far the best historical fiction I have EVER read.

    Hey Jennifer,
Congratulations on all of your signings and launch parties. I hope you can come to California soon so I can meet you! I write poetry in my free time and have been wanting to publish it or enter contests for a while now. I have researched a little, but I don’t really know where to start. I know poetry and novels are obviously very different, but I was wondering if you had any advice about where or how I can publish my poetry.

Hi Payton! I’d love to go to California – if it enters my plans, I’ll put it on my Events page.

For publishing poetry, I’d look at magazines as a starting place. Maybe go to your library and thumb through the mag’s there to look for any that publish poetry or search online for mags that publish poetry. Also, I’d definitely look at submitting your poetry to Scholastic’s writing contest (http://www.artandwriting.org). If you win – they’ll publish you in an anthology of all other winners plus many other prizes! Good luck!

Hi Larisa! Paramount is still making the decision on the movie, but also continuing with revisions to the screenplay. Fingers crossed for them to decide sometime in February!

That would be the BEST idea ever!! I would go there every single day, and watch the movie, until they take it down, I would just buy the CD.
P.S you inspire me in so much ways! I want to be a writer- not just any writer, an exciting writer like you! And an artist!

If you are a writer and an artist, Nicole, then you will have the rather rare luxury of being able to both create and design your books – I definitely hope you will continue to develop those skills!

    Dear
    Ms. / Mrs. Nielsen,
I am a HUGE fan! I have read the false prince before it was a golden sower. And since then, it has been my #1 favorite book (now series!)! I was so excited when book 2 came out, and rushed to the library to get the only copy, I read it in less than 3 days. Mainly because my eyes were glued to the words, and I can’t take my eyes off them even if I tried with all my might. When I was done, I felt sad, and down. I read through the acknowledgements and the page right after that said “Book 3 released!!” I’m on the hunt for that book now. And I will not stop/ rest until I find that book, and read it once and for all! Please tell me there is a book 4 to be looking forward too! My heart would drown if there wasn’t! Thanks! And please reply, it would mean more than the universe to have someone as awesome as you reply!

Thanks for taking part of your time reading this super long comment! I really apprrciate that,
    -Nicole Lin

Hi Nicole! Thanks so much for being such a big fan of the series – I’m so glad you are! The Shadow Throne is out in the world so I hope you can find a copy soon. However, there are not currently any plans for a fourth book. Sage may one day come and whisper that he is ready for more trouble, but for now, I’m focused on other projects.

      J. Scott Savage and Lisa McMann are both awesome people and wonderful authors. I’m honored to be named with them. A launch party in Omaha would be a blast – that’s a fun place to visit. Though if I ever do, I will have them warn me when you arrive! 😉
