Fun Ascendance News!

I have a few fun things to share in relation to the Ascendance Trilogy!

First, if you’re interested, please go HERE to vote for THE SHADOW THRONE for YALSA’s Teen Top Ten Books of 2015 list. YALSA is the Young Adult branch of the Library Services Association. Of course, there are several other excellent books also worth voting for, if you prefer.

False Prince Kellogs marketing picSecond, if you’re a fan of Kellogg’s products (Woot! Frosted Flakes! Pop Tarts! Cheez-its!), watch for specially marked packages found at either Walmart or Sam’s Club. Buy it, then the box will contain a code that you can enter online HERE and get an absolutely free book. Happy news – THE FALSE PRINCE and THE RUNAWAY KING are both being offered (Did I mention they’re free? Well, free after you buy the Kellogg’s product, but again, Frosted Flakes!)! There are many more great books too, all worth checking out!

(That gorgeous lady holding the sign for the Scholastic/Kellogg’s partnership is my awesome editor, Lisa Sandell!)

Frosted Flakes are delicious, I completely agree. And lots of other Kellogg products. I’m super excited!
Tomorrow A Night Divided is being released! Yay!

The link doesn’t seem to be working for me. I found it on Google:

And be sure to vote for Shadow Throne and NOT Shadow Prince.

Thanks for alerting me to the broken link, Luke. I think it’s fixed now! (And for the voting alert, although Shadow Prince is also an excellent book!)

Thanks for starting that, Shadow. I’ve got some other posts lined up for a bit, but I’ll try to get it mentioned somewhere.

Thank you, Aubrey – I really do appreciate that a ton! And I’m not sure that I have a favorite from the trilogy, just because to me, each was so different in the way it tested Jaron. But Shadow Throne does have a special place in my heart.

Surely I voted for the Shadow Throne! That was the main end and was totally good for all the characters-it was reallyΓ—2the best.

Oh besides that, I have to tell you something, Mrs. Neilsen!
    GUESS WHAT!!!
I got a Korean version of the false prince!
Do you remember that like 6 months ago I followed you as a student fan of the False Prince, most lately? I didn’t know that the Korean version of theFalsePrince existed, but I just found it in the bbookstoretoday!! I was so EXCITED!!!!HA!!!!
Anyway I quickly explored the korean book. For my opinion I liked the way the person wrote the sentences like you did, well but it was kinda depressing how she pronounced “Carthya” and “Tobias”. Also i thought that she could have picked some other words what i thought should be..
Anyway I’m about to read it until midnight!!
IM JUST SO HAPPY TO DISCOVER THIS BOOK!!!!! BYE!!!

    YAY!!!!!!!!

Thank you for writing these kind of books foreverπŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

I’m glad you found the Korean version – that’s so cool! Too bad it’s not exactly as you had expected, but at least it’s there! (And thanks for the vote!)

Did you get the inspiration for carthya from carthage? And what about the other names like mendenwal, gelyn, and avenia.

All then place names are just made up by me combining sounds until I liked the name. I tried to vary the sounds of each place, the number of syllables, etc. So Carthya didn’t come from Carthage. It was just a name I liked.
